5 facts about soursop leaves

In Haiti, Soursop, referred to as “kowosol” is a fruit that I really enjoy. You can create a juice with it which is absolutely delicious.

Aside from the fruit, did you know that soursop leaves have some healthy qualities?

Here is what to know:

  1. Can help relieve skin irritations (eczema, poisonous reactions, rashes). In Haiti, the leaves are used in a bath to help the skin recover from a form of chickenpox.

  2. It is packed with vitamins C and B (including thiamin, riboflavin and niacin)

  3. Can help treat diabetes, hypertension

  4. Cooked soursop leaves can help treat abscesses

  5. You can also use soursop leaves to calm your nervous system. The tea is well known for its calming effect.

    Soursop leaves can be a good at home remedy. However, it's essential to consult with a healthcare provider before using soursop leaves for medicinal purposes, as more scientific evidence is needed to support these claims.
